New figures have emerged showing that the sales of Mercedes have grown by 20% in January 2012. The upsurge in demand for the beautiful brand will mean that there is also more interest in Mercedes hire, with drivers wanting to enjoy these chic and stylish cars without having to pay out the expensive price tag.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said that January sales increased by 6,249, allowing the German brand to take a record 4.85% share of the market in the first month of the year. A total of 1,571 new registrations were noted, with Mercedes-Benz UK’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Marcus Breitschwerdt, saying: “Today’s results are a fine way to reward the efforts of our entire sales and service team across the UK. Strong new car sales to private customers have been helped with our attractive finance offers and service contracts being backed-up with great service and supply from our factories – we can get them, and we can sell them!”
However, the news goes far beyond the sales market though, because any increase in demand for private vehicles can often also be seen in the rental market. Whilst Mercedes can be costly to buy, Mercedes hire can be an affordable alternative for many wanting to drive the latest brand that is prestigious to be seen driving. With sales increasing, the number of people wanting to hire such vehicles is also set to rise.
