The extra length in the Vogue LWB, the LWB Autobiography and the LWB SV sits behind the front seats rather than in the boot, so what it buys is rear legroom rather than luggage space. The standard-wheelbase cars — the P400, the P400 Hybrid and the Hybrid — give you the same height and the same view out in a shorter car that is easier to park. The Evoque is shorter again, and it is the one people ask for when the parking is the problem rather than the passenger.
The Vogue LWB is the plainest of the three: five seats, four doors, a diesel for distance and a split tailgate, the wheelbase doing the work rather than the trim. The LWB Autobiography is the same long body in a higher specification, diesel again, and it is chosen for the back seat rather than the driving seat, the answer when somebody is being met at an airport. The LWB SV is the current shape in the SV specification, which sits above Autobiography and is built around what happens behind the front seats. The Sport is the shorter of the big cars, and this page carries it in two forms. The Gen 3 is the newest shape and the easiest of the big Land Rovers to live with in town: five seats, five doors, a proper boot, a powered tailgate, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a reversing camera, and enough ground clearance for a rutted farm track. The SVR is the loud one, the same five-seat body with a supercharged petrol V8, an eight-speed automatic and an active sports exhaust that announces it.
Both, and a chauffeur is something you add rather than something the car obliges you to take. The LWB Autobiography is the Range Rover on our chauffeur page, because its specification is aimed at the back seat, though the Sport and the standard-wheelbase cars go out with a driver as readily. With a driver in front there is no age requirement on you. Self-drive is tiered: 25 to 70 with a full licence held three years for most of the fleet, and 30 to 70 with five years for supercars and premium luxury vehicles. Which tier a given Range Rover falls into is confirmed when you enquire.
