The Taycan is the electric four-door. It is quick the way an electric car is quick — instantly, silently, and without any announcement — and it is a genuine saloon, with four seats, a boot at each end and a stance that makes it obvious what it is even when it is making no sound at all. It is the one to hire for a week of London driving where you want the car to be interesting and the running of it to be simple.
The Cayenne is the 4x4: five seats, room for the luggage, and a chassis that makes a large car behave like a smaller one on a fast A-road. It is the Porsche for the trip that leaves London — the Cotswolds, the coast, the long drive north — rather than the one that stays in it.

The Taycan if the driving is in and around London. It is the electric four-door: four seats, a boot at the back and a second one under the bonnet, and quick in the way an electric car is quick. The Cayenne if the trip leaves town, because it has five seats, a square boot, four-wheel drive and a driving position high enough to see over traffic. Both are automatic, both go out self-drive or with a chauffeur, and both are delivered to an address in London or to any London airport.
It charges like any other electric car, at a public rapid charger on the road or at a charge point where you are staying. Which cables and adaptors travel with the particular car is confirmed when you book, because that is a fact about the car rather than about the model. The charge policy for the return is written on the rental agreement you sign before collection. ULEZ does not arise on a Taycan — a fully electric car meets the standard — but the Congestion Charge is a separate scheme and is not waived for being electric. Road charges reach us from Transport for London after the fact and are passed on as that agreement sets out.

The Taycan, for a day of meetings across London: it seats four, and the cabin is quiet enough that the back of it is a decent place to take a call. The Cayenne, if there are five of you or the cases are coming off a Heathrow arrival, since it seats five and the boot is square. Either can be booked with a driver or taken self-drive. A chauffeured hire carries no driver age requirement, because you are not driving; self-drive is 25 to 70 with a licence held three years, and 30 to 70 with five years for supercars and premium luxury vehicles.
